We are excited to announce our newest Ambassador, Craig Wing! Born and raised in Sydney, New South Wales, Craig has been best known as a star in Australia’s National Rugby League. He played 256 games and won a Premiership with the Roosters in 2002. In addition to that, he represened the Australian Kangaroos 17 times before moving on to Rugby Union in Japan, qualifying to represent the Japanese national team 11 times – incredible!

Since retiring from the sport, Craig has turned his focus on the business world and has helped countless charities across Australia. His philanthropic work is a fantastic fit for Helping Hand Group’s mission to support fantastic fundraising initiatives for great causes. Welcome, Craig!

Do you have a corporate, social, or fundraising event coming up in Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, or Hong Kong? Add a Helping Hand Group silent and live auction component and our team will donate to your auction list TWO Hunter Valley Lodge holiday packages valued at a total of $8,000! The DOUBLE holiday package prize includes two separate vouchers each for a 4-night stay for 8 people at the beautiful Hunter Valley Lodge. This means that both holiday packages will come with no cost and all funds raised during your auction will be donated to your cause! Can You Get Head Start on Collecting Bids? Yes! Promote Your Auction Items Before Your Event

Best practice: Get your guests excited about the items that will be up for auction at your fundraising event! Pre-promoting your auction item list provides the opportunity to engage with your guests early and let them know what to expect during your auction. In some cases, you can even get them bidding early! Our team can help with pre-promoting your silent auction items.

Pre-promotion is available for both our Ballot Bidding (paper-and-pen) and Electronic Silent Auction programs! Here’s how both work:

Ballot Bidding:

▶ When your Ballot Bidding form is finalised, a PDF version can be emailed out prior to the event. Our team can also provide a JPEG version that can be uploaded to social media pages and feeds.

▶ If your guests wish to place bids prior to the event, they can print out the form, fill it in, and scan/send it back to one of our staff members. Alternatively they can email our staff with their details and bids.

Electronic Silent Auctions:

▶ When your site auction dashboard is finalised and loaded, a unique URL is generated and it is ready to be sent out via email or social media.

▶ Our team can provide you with the HOW TO BID instructions for people to register via SMS. Your guests simply register for the auction and then they can browse/bid on items.

Extra tip: Pre-promote your auction item list along with special call-outs on important details about your event such as start times, parking reminders, changes to entertainment, or other special announcements.

Multiple Live Auction Sale of Jerseys Raises SGD$26,000

SOLD…and SOLD once more!

At times, Helping Hand Group can supply multiples of an auction item for fundraisers. This provides an opportunity for your live auctioneer to sell more than one of a particular item on your auction list. In a standard live fundraising auction, the auctioneer can work with two, three or more of the same auction item – whether it is a holiday package or limited set of signed memorabilia – to engage with the group of top bidders. When the bidding has reached the maximum point, the auctioneer can announce each of the top bidders (matching the number of multiples available) as winners. This can significantly boost funds raised for your cause!

Recently in Singapore at the VANDA White Boxing event, two sets of Pele and Maradona jerseys were available on auction – and both were sold in an exciting finish to the live auction. This resulted in SGD$26,000 instantly added to the total fundraised on the night!

Helping Hand Group’s program – Last Donor Standing – can also bring about multiple sales of a particular auction item for fundraisers. This program gets the whole room involved by having the auctioneer ask all guests to stay standing through rounds of bidding for an item while increasing the asking price until it sells. The last group of guests standing each win one of the items at the top bidding price announced.

Your auction winner will enjoy an incredible day for eight guests on a new luxury yacht. A delicious on-board lunch or afternoon tea will be served, including champagne, beer, wine and soft drinks. Departing from Rushcutters Bay in the East, the group will set sail for a taste of the mighty Pacific Ocean! Hunter Valley Wine Country Cabins leave Canadians with perfect memories of Australia

Tucked away in Australia’s oldest wine region, the beautiful Hunter Valley Wine Country Cabins is a perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of Australia’s cities or a fantastic destination for visitors to the New South Wales region. The property is situated amongst numerous bespoke vineyards and the region’s best attractions – making it the perfect overnight resting spot to spend time taking in the sights, sounds, and tastes of the famous Hunter Valley. Accommodation packages at the property are also available as auction items for fundraisers.

The Wine Country Cabins recently became the highlight of a couple’s travels in Australia. Visiting from Canada on their first-ever trip to Australia, Bill and Kathy G. were on a five-week trip to the New South Wales region which included a weekend stay in the Hunter Valley. Upon their arrival to the Wine Country Cabins, they were blown away by the beautiful expanse of the property. “It’s simply beautiful. Quiet, spacious, and serene. And you can smell the eucalyptus! Now, that’s authentic Australia. What more could you ask for?” said Kathy.

The property boasts a layout of cottage-like accommodation with full kitchen and restaurant services, lounge area, and beautiful pool on 60,000 square meters of natural landscape. Cottage rooms sleep 2-4 people and include a bar fridge, snack bar, ensuite bathroom, TV, and air conditioning. “Our cottage room was just so cute. The decor is stylish and the raw log walls give you that warm, cottage feel. The vanilla and lavender candles were a nice touch. It was so relaxing.” Kathy described. Additionally, each cottage room has an outdoor patio area with table and chairs – perfect for relaxing and taking in the views of the property. “We were excited to see the kangaroos,” said Bill. “It was the first time seeing them in the wild, so it was pretty neat. They hopped through the property while we sat and drank tea on the patio. There was also a variety of bird species such as colourful Lorikeets visiting in the trees. Spectacular.”

Guests can enjoy a complimentary breakfast arrangement in the central lodge provided by the Wine Country Cabins team each morning. With indoor and outdoor seating, the lodge provides a nice spot to mingle with other guests or grab a quiet corner and enjoy the ambiance. “Nicole and her team were delightful. They always had a smile on their faces and were eager to help us with anything we needed,” said Bill. “They really know how to make you feel welcome.” The central pool area is beautifully laid out with a small surrounding garden, lounge chairs, umbrellas, and pool towels. Adjacent to the pool area is a BBQ area for group functions. “It would be a great spot to hold an outdoor event such as a wedding, birthday, or corporate retreat,” said Kathy. “I’d love to hold my 60th here if I could!”

The immediate area around the Wine Country Cabins features a large number of wineries such as Bimbadgen, Blueberry Hill, Keith Tulloch, and Tatler plus a variety of unique attractions such as Hunter Valley Chocolate Company, Sabor dessert bar, Hunter Distillery, Matilda Bay Brewhouse and the beautiful Hunter Valley Gardens. “There was a lot to choose from each day. Apart from the great wineries, I was able to taste and buy some wonderful chocolate and Bill was able to do some beer tasting. We were very impressed – the region offers something for all tastes,” said Kathy.

A retreat to the Hunter Valley Wine Country Cabins is a perfect way to treat yourself, your friends, or your loved ones to a relaxing and revitalising experience in one of Australia’s most beautiful regions. “Thank you for the wonderful memories. We are definitely coming back,” said Bill. “Not even the expanse of the Pacific Ocean can keep us away.”
